The lenses used by Yamamoto Kogaku are made with polycarbonate (excluding some products), which offers excellent transparency, impact resistance, heat tolerance, and incombustibility properties.
Our molding techniques allow us to process the plastic used in bullet-proof equipment, the canopy of aircraft, and more into PETROID® lenses, which provide superior optical performance and block more than 99.9% of harmful UV rays.
With this base technology, we have developed a diverse product lineup of laser safety glasses able to control wavelengths and lenses offering heightened visual confirmation capabilities of visible wavelengths; products with incredible optical performance, such as lenses which can cut certain wavelengths; and a diverse product lineup supplemented with our own anti-fogging, water-repellent, and scratch-resistant coatings.
